My voice seems well suited to singing many of the songs from the "Great American Songbook": that canon of the most important and influential American popular songs and jazz standards from the 1920's to the 1950's that have stood the test of time in their life and legacy. So this page includes an audio player for my Songs From The Great American Songbook, as well as links to full page presentations for each of these songs

The Sound Of Music — My cover of the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, The Sound of Music, the title song from the musical of the same name. I'm singing to a karaoke orchestral version of the song, based on Julie Andrews' version in the 1965 movie, The Sound of Music.
On The Street Where You Live — My cover of the classic 1956 Lerner and Loewe song, On the Street Where You Live, from the musical, My Fair Lady. I'm singing to a karaoke version playing a jazz combo arrangement of the song.
The Way You Look Tonight — My cover of the classic song, The Way You Look Tonight (music: Jerome Kern, lyrics: Dorothy Fields), first made famous by Fred Astaire in the 1939 film, Swing Time. I'm singing to a karaoke arrangement based on Michael BublĂ©'s 2003 bossa nova version of the song. I also added a piano part to the instrumental section.
Misty — My cover of the classic song, Misty, made famous by Johnny Mathis's gorgeous 1959 version. I'm singing to a karaoke arrangment based on Johnny Mathis's version.
Fly Me To The Moon — My cover of the classic 1954 song, Fly Me to the Moon. I'm singing to a karaoke version playing a bossa nova arrangement of the song.
Once Upon A TimeOnce Upon A Time is a lovely, heart-wrenching ballad that isn't that well-known, even though it has been sung by well-known singers like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. I'm singing to a karaoke arrangement based on Frank Sinatra's version of the song. The exquisitely beautiful orchestration is by master arranger, Gordon Jenkins.
Maria — My cover of the 1957 classic, Maria (music: Leonard Bernstein, lyrics: Stephen Sondheim), from the musical, West Side Story. I'm singing to a karaoke orchestral version of the song.
I Left My Heart In San Francisco — I've always loved I Left My Heart In San Francisco! And, having lived for many decades in the San Francisco area, the song has a special meaning for me, and I always intended to do a cover of it at some point. I Left My Heart In San Francisco is also the signature song of legendary singer Tony Bennett. With his passing yesterday (July 21, 2023), I am doing this special cover as a tribute to him, and to all the hearts he has touched over the decades. As a master singer and heartfelt song intrepreter, he has inspired me in so many ways! I am singing to a karaoke arrangement based on Tony Bennett's 1962 version.
Nature BoyNature Boy is a beautiful, mysterious song by eden ahbez that makes a simple but profound revelation. Human hearts yearn for wisdom, and so the song became instantly beloved upon its release in 1948 by Nat King Cole. I am singing to a karaoke arrangement based on the exotic, haunting arrangement (with strings, flute, and piano) by Frank De Vol, which he created for Nat King Cole's version.
Our Love Is Here To Stay — My cover of the 1938 Gershwin classic, Love Is Here To Stay. I'm singing to a karaoke jazz combo version of the song, based on Rod Stewart's 2003 cover.
Moon River — My cover of the classic 1961 song, Moon River (music: Henry Mancini, lyrics: Johnny Mercer). I'm singing a duet with Abby Strickland to a karaoke piano version of the song. I wrote additional parts for violin, guitar, and flute.
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas — One of my favorite Christmas songs. For me (starting with Judy Garland's original film version), it has always been an emotion-filled song, by turns joyful, playful, nostalgic, and wistful — so that is how I sing it here.
I'll Be Home For ChristmasI'll Be Home For Christmas is a beautiful Christmas song, and another of my favorites. It touched the hearts of so many soldiers far from home in World War II, when Bing Crosby first sang the song in 1943. And it continues to touch everyone whose heart is moved by the Christmas vision of warmth, togetherness, light, and love.
The Christmas Song — I love the music of the holiday season, and felt in the mood to sing one of my favorite songs for Christmas Eve (2023).
